How to Balance Learning, Working & Your Personal Life
Sep 28, 2017
Have you ever felt that there’s no way to cope with your work demands, your studies and your private life in a balanced way without letting one aspect affect the others negatively? Relax! You are not the only one. Many people all over the world feel the pressure and don’t know how to achieve a good balance. Don’t worry, as it’s a challenge that you will be able to handle. Read on to learn some tips that you may find helpful.
Focus on the task at hand
If you are at work, don’t worry about classes; if you are at home with your family or your friends, don’t let your work interfere; if in class, concentrate on your studies.
Organize your weekly schedule
When you plan your week, take into account the hours you have to spend at work, but drop activities that make you waste time and give you no satisfaction at all. Remember to leave time for your family and friends and activities that help you recharge. If your classes have fixed hours, try to have them when you are not in a hurry to fulfill other tasks. If your schedule works, you’ll have time for everything, even to have fun and reward yourself.
Inform your family and friends about your schedule
Maybe, you think this is not important, but it is! It will prevent them from disturbing you when you are at work or trying to concentrate during your classes. Besides, they will get to know when you can give them your full attention.
Plan activities to recharge your batteries
If you think nothing can be done without you, you’ll get emotionally and physically drained. You are a human being and as such you need to learn when to say NO and to remember that a bit of relaxation can go a long way. So, always make time to relax in the best way that relaxes you –there aren’t rules for this; each person has a different way – listen to music, read a book, do exercise, go walking or cycling or just sit under the sun without doing anything at all.
Perhaps, you think of other things that can be done to find a good balance. Just remember that what is a good balance for one person, maybe the worst for another. There are no right or wrong choices and your choices will change over time. The important thing is that you can enjoy life anywhere you are and whatever activity you are carrying out.
